At Gastro Care, we understand that preparing for a procedure can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. On this page, you’ll find helpful information and resources to guide you through every step — from scheduling your appointment to recovering comfortably at home.

BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE

You will receive detailed preparation instructions when your procedure is scheduled. It’s important to read these carefully and follow them exactly, as proper preparation helps ensure your procedure is safe and effective.

If you have questions or concerns about your prep instructions, medications, or dietary restrictions, please contact Gastro Health – Springfield directly. Their staff can provide specific guidance tailored to your procedure.

What to Bring on the Day of Your Procedure

To help your check-in go smoothly, please bring the following items with you:
  • A valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
  • Your insurance card
  • Any copayment or coinsurance that applies
  • A list of current medications and dosages
  • Your pre-procedure paperwork
  • A responsible adult to drive you home after your procedure.
Because sedation is often used, you must have a driver to take you home. The driver cannot leave the premises during your procedure. You will not be permitted to drive yourself or use a ride service such as Uber or Lyft.

AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE

Following your procedure, you’ll spend time in our comfortable recovery area until the sedation wears off.

Before you leave, you’ll receive discharge instructions that include:

  • What to expect during recovery

  • When to resume eating and medications

  • Warning signs that should be reported

  • Follow-up appointment information (if needed)
